Anyone had problems unfolding them when icedup?

Guessing it will damage the motors/mechanism?

None with regard to the problem you're asking about but mine just had a small problem with them fixed. If they get knocked they can jump off the mooring that attaches them to the motor so they end up not folding back.

Makes the roads come alive.

Never had a problem with mine icing up on my old car but they were heated too.

No - mine do ice up sometimes but the internals 'unfold' and you just have to manually click them back into position.
They are designed so they still fold back without the electrics e.g. if they hit something.
Not done any damage to the motors etc yet...

You could just change the settings in the car to keep the mirrors unfolded..

Managed to clip one of mine once on a Chrysler MPV which resulted in it not working - they wanted £200 to replace the whole wing mirror. Took the mirror assembly apart to find that the drive pinion on the motor was spinning - it was a cheapy plastic gear push-fit onto the motor spindle and simply fixed on with superglue!
