Newly out of work so...Anyone done anything similar? Must be easy to refit for a semi-competent DIY'er. Current is corrugated plastic but the idea is to put proper stud/etc sides and back on as the frame is very solid wood with a garage door front.
The corrugated plastic in B&Q is hideously thin - any ideas where to source from a chain that's known to be good quality -Travis Perkins etc
Unless you pick up FRP its all really thin.

Mix of steel and plastic works best in my experience as its strong but allows enough light in to work without growing tomatoes.

The problem if you close up the sides is the wind can then rip the top off. At my folks place neighbours have been gradually been enclosing their carports to form garages and after storms we end up picking the pieces out of our pond - their response it to then try and shutter the sides up more and that just makes it worse. We've kept that back and side of ours open and the gate is full height but slatted like a drying barn - can't see through but the wind can blow through. We've never had storm damage and only replaced the plastic once in over 40 years- and that was only to facilitate access to replace some windows above.
I've been looking for roofing sheets. This company does corrugated polyczarbonate up to 1.3mm thick compared to B&Q 0.8 or 1mm. No idea if their prices are competitive or if the company are any good.

south facing? If it is then solar panels. Just planning a 9x6m solar car port using unbacked solar panels so they have the gaps between the cells to provide some light.

Hey this is the sleepy village of Saint Retford not Partington borders 😉
10mm X 2m wide. Fitted with Conservatory type glazing bars. single screw retainer in centre middle and bottom as top is fully secured by the plastic flashing strip. Also siliconed along the wooden centre rail. The pic is in its unfinished state but can take some more if required.
C&A deliver all over the country and have a good choice of materials.
Does it need to let the light through? If not the corrugated bitumen roof sheets are really good. There are basically cardboard sheets soaked in bitumen, easy to fit don't split and the wind doesn't rip them apart like the plastic. Looks good too in black.
