Just wondering if anyone on here could give me a little bit of advice on a little project I am thinking of doing this weekend.
My little one has a custom single divan bed which is 4 inches shorter than a standard single bed, thanks to a 1990's builder, building her narrow bedroom not to take a standard sized single bed!
Which means we cannot fit an Ikea Kura tent bed which we have seen and like, so I was thinking of constructing a frame to go round her existing divan bed, so we can fit the canopy above, like in this pic.

I have a load of 1 3/4" square x 6ft planed timber left over from another project.
Do you think that would be strong enough? & what type of joints would you recomend to fix it together with?
