Bit of a wierd one, I am looking of getting a drawing/painting/illustration of my wife and the dog for her christmas present (she prefers the dog to me now).
Any one used anybody they could recommend or got any ideas where to start looking other than google
Do you want a caricature or a semi-realistic drawing?
Do you know what medium you want it in? Pencil, paint, watercolour?
How good do you want it? This is probably the key question. Some of the very good people can charge say, 500 quid for a painting like this, others may charge a lot less. There's some exceptional artists on here, people who do it for a living. Not many though.
You could try deviantart, search for 'commission' and then choose the artist of your choice.
I've started doing commissions of dogs but I'm not that good so I'm very cheap. If this is your target area then let me know. 😉 Here's an example.

sorry, having connection problems. These two are 'quicker' drawings however i go as far as photorealism dependant on budget. This style is the most popular due to cost and time. These have been taken and uploaded off my iphone as i cant get my laptop to connect to the wifi tonight 🙁 they look much better in real life... honest
