Currently a Public Sector BA, good experience, pretty good at my job 😉 Prince2 Prac, MSP Prac & ISEB Diploma, but I need a change, more challenges, more responsibility, and more £.

I would like to do something to make use of my exp, but not sure what or where to start looking. I don't have the e-balls to go contracting yet.

What's Project Land like in the profit-driven world?

Do you have any domain specific knowledge?

Whilst I'm open to the fact that a "good" BA can work effectively in almost any problem area, having a specialisation might well open up a few doors at product based companies rather than generic project work.

No domain specific knowledge; IT packages I've spent majority of time on are bespoke rather than cots.

As a BA contracting is the best place to be, consultancies will bleed you dry and pay you a basic wage.

Working on bespoke packages isn't a drawback at all, a lot of companies are now moving from bespoke to COTS. The key is having the knowledge and understanding on what the benefits and drawbacks are of both, and how to migrate Business Process from one to the other.

If you fancy a bit of a chat, drop me an email and I can give you some info.
