😀
Sold my SZ and subsequently the VFR800 and haven't ridden since . MTB'ing is much more fun .
I am the spiritual leader of Tibet (in exile)
That's interesting, there's a classifieds-only user with the same name. Do I need to dust off the hammer?
Self ownage...
My name isn't Bob, it's neither Ian, or Colin, but who doesn't love a chance to say Bob?
I lived in Braemar at the time I joined the forum, most definitely a local village for local people, I'm not local. I live in Ballater now, so no need to update my name.
Was my first online username in 96 and has stuck around since.
Fat, Scottish and my nickname was/is Nanny, named after the giant chicken thing in Count Ducula that smashes into stuff and breaks everything. No similarities with me at all...
My name isn't Bob, it's neither Ian, or Colin, but who doesn't love a chance to say Bob?
Is it Kate?
The Tonerino
The Tony
Tony
(Although, when someone thought I was called Elton, I nearly changed it).
From a Russell Hoban poem someone rather rudely sent me, when I first learned to ride 🙁

Still not nimble or neat, but definitely cracked the "knuckles showing white" bit 😀
jimw was taken.
Despite what many people think, it has nothing to do with trout.
As I've said before ... I'm from Dorset ... and I have a large knob.
Because I used to spend way too much time bike fettling in the garage and Mrs g-d used to threaten I could live down there with my snoring. The garage has since been replaced with a nice wooden workshop.
Pre hack 3milestoqep was how far it was too cycle through buriton to the back door to queen Elizabeth country park. Although I moved 10 miles south just a few months after choosing the name. 🙄
My name isn't Bob, it's neither Ian, or Colin, but who doesn't love a chance to say Bob?
You are Rowan Atkinson and I claim my five pounds!
At the time of the forum crash I was using my old business name, so wanted a change anyway.
Was going to do something single speedy, but I figured I was getting old and frail and would need gears soon.
If I'm not SSing I like hub gears (epicyclic gears), hence "epicyclo".
Cougar - ModeratorThat's interesting, there's a classifieds-only user with the same name. Do I need to dust off the hammer?
Chris's place is full of crap he should sell so I don't think it's him 😆
Outsider is usually taken.
6'4" - every bike I have ever owned looks more like a gate than the sexy stuff I see on Fresh Goods Friday
Name's Martin
Birthday is on the 10th
Simples.
I like a good house party.
My Spanish uncle called me it as a youth , as did loads of folk in Spain come to think of it... 😯 ,
then it became my email....
my name's John and I play drums
Born & bred.
Spend as much of my life in these beautiful places as possible.
And I prefer it to Teuchter.
After the hack I wanted a change. They wouldn't let me rejoin as deathtoeveryone so I had to come up with something else.
I love Cat Power and metal heart is one of my favourite songs.
If you know the lyrics, it kind of tells you everything you'll need to know about me.
Interestingly, when I'd forgotten my password, when I put in my email address it thought I was called deathtoeveyone after all. Which was a bit annoying truth be told. Then they banned me....
Apparently I share certain traits with Nick the Greek from Lock, stock and two smoking barrels.
And my names Nick.
Apparently it's welsh for 'cock' according to google
It happens to be my name.
Which made it quite funny (to me at least) when i met up with someone from here who then asked if i would like to tell my real name.
It was the make of my long term bike, Coyote Dual. The bike has recently been retired but kinda got used to the name. Use it online for most things where an alias is required.
From 1979:
Apparently it's welsh for 'cock' according to google
Well, more of a small pointy thing, like a thorn. If you had a particularly small one then it may be called that. It's not a compliment 🙂
NBT is short for Notoriously Bad Typist, from a phase on Bikemagic when we stopped using real name and adopted pseudonyms. Been NBT for about 15 years now on almost every forum I use
cos he's a great rider and sound bloke. I can only try
Allthegear? It all made perfect sense, once upon a time…
Rachel
Same here , pc gamer user name from a decade ago.
I got banned so rejoined with a smart arsed latin name. I was a botanist at the time.
The weekend i joined i had just ridden skillessly of a 4 foot rock, landed on my front wheel and then my face
Same username since pre-hack days. It's an unimaginative mix of maiden and married names.
Drunk wife trying to remember the name of the Bruce Willis sci-fi movie. Bada boom...
My mind went blank when signing up on another site so I used the Username I had at a previous job. It tends to be free on most sites so I stuck to it.
Dinosaur called Dave innit. Rarrrgghhh! Marvellous.
My real name is Eric.
Ah!.....errr!
Probably best keep quiet.
Good job it's not a picture thread 😉
Pre-hack it was my name. When we all had to re-register, I thought it good practice to use a pseudonym to make phishing harder.
Amongst my regular MTB peer group, I am the only professional scientist and have a moderately analytical approach to problems and vocalising my thought process, including mechanicals and riding in general.
Hence the friendly pisstake 'thank you for the explanation Scienceofficer Burgess.'
We also have a creativeofficer in the group who does all our Jersey designs and has a real creative job too.
It's only really an MTB moniker. Everywhere else on line, I'm bUMJAR. Deliberate letter case.
I am a cyclist of supreme fitness and technical ability
Something to do with my head.
I entered my email address in the wrong box. They won't let me change it.
Mines a kind of play on my surname.
Nothing to do with a certain Bavarian motor company.
it's my pre-hack name (which is what people call me which is similar to my surname) with an added letter.
the first 3 letters of my first, middle and last names
My school nickname, don't know why then, still don't know why now...
Mistumonkey, because I had a succession of Mitsubishi Pajero/Shoguns, I've now got a Toyota Land Cruiser so I reckon the name should now be Toymonkey!
Devoid of creative thought when registering it's the model name for an old set of Volkl skis I had.
Buddha too..
I'm Chris.
I also own a few Giants.
Thanks cokie 🙂
The night before I joined in been to a circuit training class where we'd done a lot of lunges, it was the first word that jumped into my head when I was registering.
I've a cloaked Dreadnaught in orbit. Unfortunately I've forgotten the password login, two more failed attempts and it rains Atomic death down on me.
I've had it for over a thousand years.
I got banned so rejoined with a smart arsed latin name. I was a botanist at the time.
Thanks for the tip off. Now banned again.
Lol! Not so smart after all...
I thought it was a 'funny' slight mispronunciation on Wales' best MTB place, but its a crappy name really.
What was "mastyles fanylion" (IIRC) all about? That one had me wondering.
It is Gaelic for black dog. I am Scottish and suffer from depression. It felt appropriate.
It was the name I christened my first singlespeed with, liked it so chose it too.
Its just a amalgam of a couple of Latin words that sounded good together,
now my main email address that's a more long winded tale...
I'm neither slack nor am I Alice.
Seemed like it was meant to be.
Because I poo in the woods
I was living in the Eden valley (Cumbria) when I set the account up. Not there now and I wasn't a boy when I set it up...always wonder if that makes me a bit like those dubious chat room stalkers faking their age.... 😀
‘One hundred idiots make idiotic plans and carry them out. All but one justly fail. The hundredth idiot, whose plan succeeded through pure luck, is immediately convinced he is a genius’ – tale of Homomdan ship’s name, Iain M. Banks
Dark Chocolate Hob Nobs. Although I've changed my mind and I now think it's the Dark Chocolate Digestive. McVities of course.
Nickname given by colleagues not long after my then manager made the mistake of promoting me to a job involving organisational skills. And used on other forums (any windsurfers / runners around?).
It was actually meant to be CaptainChaos but that had been taken.
Mine is straightforward - my main bike was an Epic (and still is) and I'm called Steve.
As a Welsh learner, found out that copa means top or summit.
So I used that. And I only post if I've got summit to say.
In a former life .. I used to photograph eyes professionally.
A-A has admitted that before and its a very clever name. Hopefully not really banned
Me it was a Poker name - it was essentially given by a guy who would just give folk a poker name - we never even played poker.
Needed something on here - no one ever called me that ever - and for some reason used that
Been called it by folk who I only meet for STW rides but not really used anywhere but here.
