I want to cut some CF and as a responsible person I'd like to use a mask, but I can't find anywhere on the web what grade/rating of mask is required, and i don't think your standard paper filter type thing would do the job adequately.
Does anyone work in the CF or H&S (elfin - does your name signify an some knowledge?) and know about procedures/requirements for cutting carbon fibre?
This is for a formula student project, so unfortunately there is loads of CF to be cut, not just a 'do it outside' jobbie.
This is what i use (got from work)

Have a dust filter that can be changed regular and you can fit a vapour filter for the resin.
Have cut carbon fibre with a Dremel and its amazing how dusty things get.

Erm?
ahhhhhhhh. Thats funny
Its just dust so its a case of getting a dust mask that fits you really well. A shave helps if you are a lout like me. I like the 3M semi disposable ones (which I'm currently using for laying up and sanding fibre glass), they're actually for organic vapours but of course if they can keep dust out if they can keep gas out. They're about £15 - £19 and you can get then in screwfix
Are the parts manufactured by yourselves? Cured, uncured or are you cutting cloth only before laminating.
P3 rating should do it. Available from most places that you'd expect to sell them.
