Mrs B got another car more suited to her requirements the other week including the ability to easily pop elderly parents wheelchair in the boot.
Only thing missing is that the rear windows are not tinted. We find tinting very handy for summer plus ensuring that our most prized faithful pooch is not easily visible whilst parked.
However, not sure whether 5% (limo) or 15% (not quite limo) is the way to go in terms of tint.
Thoughts?
5% is super dark....
go 15%..
DrP
Depends on colour of the car, how big the alloys are and what badge is on there.*

*I say this as someone with a 'limo tint' that previous owner of my Leon estate added, along with a full de-chrome and bronze badges to make a fake Cupra....Thankfully the alloys are 'normal' 17" not the sill 19" they apparently were. #pimpin.

You’re two Maccy Ds trays under your rear wheels and handbrake on drifting away from full blown cruiser.
Don’t go full limo tint, 15% will be enough.
I went full limo on my Berlingo, didn't see any point in anything less. From the inside it's 'dark' but your eyes adjust to it. It only makes a difference looking from the outside.
That said, it makes doing quick over the shoulder looks from the drivers seat more difficult, for example when merging or changing lanes onto a motorway, it's essentially like driving a van but with a rear window. So I fitted little articulated stick on blind spot mirrors to the door mirrors to give a better all round view.
I wouldn't mind doing this for summertime usage, does it make it cooler in the back?
I have shades from https://www.carshades.co.uk/ instead of tints, might be worth a look as might be cheaper, plus you might be able to sell them on when you move onto the next car.

Uh huh. I is cool.

I bought those car shades and they would fall off the windows so got a refund. Ended up with 5% limo tint in both cars for protecting my children. I'm glad I went for that tint, even on really sunny days they could even benefit from more tint! I think if your aim is to protect occupants, go for the highest tint.
Car shades seconded. From more than a couple feet away the windows look tinted, but can be removed at anytime. Never had issues with them falling out, really can’t see how they could.
I don't think it's just the VLT but also the film type.
I had 3M color stable 35 on the rear windows and solarguard ultra 75 on the front sides.
I seem to remember their heat rejection numbers were almost identical even though you can barely tell the fronts are done.
Also added carshades to rear sides for window down protection for the kids and rear hatch but 35vlt plus the shades makes evening/night visibility more challenging.
My actual "limo" van has factory 22% tint and you'd have to shade your eyes to see inside from the outside but you can still see out properly.
