I took out a 3 Year RAC Platinum Warranty when I bought my Abarth this time last year (coz Fiat!).
It's failed it's MOT this morning - both rear springs snapped. Being an Abarth they're Fiat only (made by Eibach) and not cheap and a week to arrive.
I'd told garage to go ahead but I thought I'd given RAC Warranty a call as I couldn't see they were excluded. Five minutes on the phone got a "yeah that's fine, just get the garage to call us and we'll sort it out".
No drama, no fuss, no million and one questions.
Garage called them and got the same level of service and they were equally as shocked! Garages initial response was we don't get involved in warranty work! 🤣
Surprised. Always thought of springs as essentially a consumable, knacked mostly by over enthusiastic negotiation of speed bumps.
Shame it was the springs and not the dampers. Then we could be truly 'shocked'.
Nice way to bounce back from the MOT failure

Plenty of aftermarket options. I replaced my rear springs and shocks on my Abarth a couple of months ago.

More like the shitty state of the nation’s road network - I’ve had to have springs replaced in the past, and I’m always careful with speed bumps.
Still, it’s good to know the RAC warranty covers things like that.
Balls! Both the garage and me searched for hours yesterday but neither of us could find aftermarket standard springs. There are plenty of performance lowering springs but I don't want to go lower and the wife would refuse to come in it if the ride were any harder! And going lower would mean doing all four (along with associated fittings).
Anyway warranty are sorting it now and I'd probably have wanted it to stay standard as well as it's only a 20 plate.
