I need to change the steering gaiter on my car. Should be easy enough, but it is an import. Ordered one from a specialist supplier which has arrived but is too small. Double checked with them and its the only size they do for this model. Happy to fit one from another car but I can't search by size! Every website wants to know the make/model/engine size etc before they'll show me the size. I've tried a few similar cars to mine but nothing found and its slow going. Anyone know a website where I can search by size or a list/database of boots so I can find a model with a similar size
Its a Mitsubishi Delica, 95 2.8. Needs to be 50mm x 13mm x 220mm or so. Something like this but 13mm not 17mm
You need to find the manufacturer of the steering rack. It will probably be made by a manufacturer that makes steering racks for multiple cars so there should be an equivalent for another make and model of car that shares the same or similar rack.
Also can you get universal gaiters? I remember replacing CV boots and there were universal ones available. Of course they didn't always fit as well as the OEM proper parts but did the job.
I'm not convinced I'll get a universal one on. Its an awkward thing to fit so needs to slide on without much stretching. That's plan b though. Annoyingly I've found a few that are close but can't get a match from a local supplier. For example a Volvo s60 matches on an Australian website but I put the same spec into eurocarparts and its a different size! It would be so much easier if I could search by size rather than make/model. Have tried asking on the owners club. No response. I was thinking stw would beat them anyway.

try google images with a similar search you will get lots of dimension pictures , or find a febi catalog by looking for "febi catalog pdf"
I've fitted gaitors that came with a step-down spacer for the track arm, but I can't remember what they were on.
