Deadly roundabout indeed. If you don't understand lane markings or how to merge
Looks like he deliberately sped up to cause the issue.
I don't think that there are two separate incidents on the original clip, I suspect that when the lorry has been overtaking, he has changed his speed to trap him out in the third lane.
You're one of those nice chaps who likes to see the best in people aren't you? I was once, too. Nope. Eejits own youtube vid is captioned and suggests different. He's an even bigger Eejit than you suspected.I don't think that there are two separate incidents on the original clip, I suspect that when the lorry has been overtaking, he has changed his speed to trap him out in the third lane.
Deadly roundabout indeed. If you don't understand lane markings or how to merge
Yeah I would have had a lot more sympathy for his point about the exit lanes having to merge quickly (and granted they do look quite short) if he hadn't been wandering over the lanes and attempting to overtake on a roundabout.
As irc said, who deliberately positions themselves alongside an HGV on a roundabout?
The roundabout in that video is just up the road from me, it's just outside Wellingborough. I've not had any problems with it since they have reworked it to its current state. Or indeed any in its previous guise. But then I like to think I'm not a total eejit.
Hopefully PoliceWitness won't be around much longer. Looking through the other videos they are causing incidents and making false claims.
The truck driver in the original video still shouldn't have allowed himself to be provoked.
Apart from the obvious lack of background research from the BBC, am I the only one confused by their headline about "lorry shunting car" which isn't remotely accurate?

Lorry driver acts dangerously, gets fired. What is there to froth about?
Just assault with a deadly weapon. No big deal.
As this occurred on the M1 in Engerland, that's unlikely unless we're now (even more) under US jurisdiction...
I don't really know why I'm joining in with this, but in the roundabout video the lorry has done nothing wrong, it's up to the person in the outside lane to merge (which is clearly reflected by the road markings).
He's up there with those helmet cam wielding cyclists who ride along screaming out the number plates of all cars who have deigned to look at them the wrong way.
in the roundabout video the lorry has done nothing wrong
I think the supposed culprit in that video (according to "PoliceWitness") wasn't the lorry, but the actual roundabout itself which quite clearly forced him to drive like a nob.
This thread, and the lgv/cyclist one both display footage that appears to have been edited so that it begins after there has already been some kind of incident.
The comments in both threads also show that a fair few people would agree with that.
I read a few months ago (admittedly cant remember where), but it was info from a police force and or legal representatives, that for dashcam footage to be used properly, it should show at least the 2 minutes preceding any incident, to prove there was no actions that had directly caused it.
That would certainly seem to make sense IMO.
Seems like an interesting character - former PCC candidate, allegedly a millionaire, and amusingly, currently backing a project called 'Squeeze with Ease'!
Dash cam drive and lorry driver are both driving dangerously and both should lose their licence. Why did dashcam man not brake to get away from the lorry when it was trying to cut him up?
agent007
Man flashes lights to encourage big hairy trucker to 'batter him' from the rear whilst filming the whole thing for later gratification. Trucker prefers to nudge his rear end against the man gently, so as not to spill his delicate load
Congrats, you owe me a new laptop as i've just snorted a large mouthful of tea over my current one........... 😆
Is it just me that thinks the 999 call is a bit dubious?
Dashcam Man - "I'm just going to follow him" and the 999 person just says ok. Would they bollocks say that.
And then he says "I've got it all on Dashcam"
To which the operator says "superb". No they wouldn't !
And the audio sounds added later, like it was him and his mate sat in the front room at home
but the actual roundabout itself which quite clearly forced him to drive like a nob.
TBH I have lost count of the number of times an inanimate object has caused me to [nearly] crash. I dont think you are taking this issue seriously Graham
Is it just me that thinks the 999 call is a bit dubious?
fishier than the contents of a spanish trawler after a full catch.
what dashcam company does he represent? just so I know whom to avoid for the purchase I was seriously about to make.
staged for some fishy whiplash claims. £2000 a pop no questions asked isn't it. bet there were 3 passengers when it comes to claim time. all of them asleep, of course so can't be heard on the vid.
Way back someone posted this. I can't believe it's the incident I once saw as would be far too much of a co-incidence but I once saw identical behaviour by a truck on a UK motorway.
T'was I, leaving M25 jct14, morning rush hour about 3 to 4 years ago.
First time the Lorry crossed into my lane it was half way past me and I instinctively assumed the driver had lapse of concentration as it moved back into the middle lane. 2nd time he swerved over to me I had to take evasive action and hop into hard shoulder. Then he moved back over again, so I shot ahead to get in front of him, as I passed cab he took another swerve at me and I saw him making various gestures and laughing at me.
I genuinely have no idea what the hell his game was, but I was almost delerious in protectant dad rage.
Tried my best with highways agency but despite being busiest stretch of road in Europe, they apparently had no footage.

Not as deadly as his choice of music
I'd be raged up to **** as well if I spent my days in a tin box listening to Mickey Bubbles
Am I the only one scouring his videos looking for my registration number 🙂
They video should be shown to middle lane hoggers
Whilst the lorry driver acted dangerously, you can feel his frustration.
I'm staggered by the lack of anger towards the lorry driver.
Yes, the car driver appears to be a numpty of the highest order, but to use a lorry as a battering ram in order to vent frustration?
Rise above, carry on driving and arrive content in the conclusion that there are numpty drivers about - and always will be - but you are thankfully not one of them.
Its such an unbelievably dangerous thing to do.
It's a shame that so many people need to experience this kind of thing first hand, either themesleves or via family/friends, before they realise the sheer danger and risk involved.
I cannot condone the idiot car driver for a moment. But the lorry driver is far far more guilty of any crime, and far more idiotic.
Obvious attempt to stage a crash for cash insurance claim. There are just two many easy and normal things the driver could have done to avoid/not cause the incident. Plus can chase the driver to his depo without a problem but then "needs" an ambulance to take him to hospital when his car has only sustained a minor scrape .
The driver seems to be on a bit of media crusade at the moment. Here he is on promoting himself via a totally unrelated incident
driver locked up linky
That Telegraph story ^^ is rubbish, it's clearly a Polo, not a Golf. The driver did deserve to be banged up though.
Absolutely no excuse why a modern car (classic campers, land rovers etc forgiven) should be getting overtaken by a truck on the motorway.
I used to have a '54 split-screen Minor, could easily pass any truck on a motorway.
Couldn't do more than 70mph flat-out, mind! 😀
Re: the photo of Warrick Davis, I wouldn't try to rile him; being nutted in the nuts isn't something I relish...
I'm staggered by the lack of anger towards the lorry driver.
Well it's a given the lorry driver is an idiot. No mileage in discussing it.
More to talk about in what the agenda of the other idiot is.
