Hi

Had to replace the MAP sensor on my 2001 1.4 VW Polo recently. It’s awkward to get to, but on removing it, it’s apparent that at some point the original bolts have been replaced with self-tappers.

On refitting, the bolts do not fully tighten. The sensor has stayed in place, but I doubt it will be long before it works loose.

What is my best means of securing the sensor?

I possibly could try longer self-tappers (but not sure whether this would necessitate drilling out the existing hold any further).

I was thinking an easier option might be a dod of Loctite on the existing self-tappers, or maybe a bit of silicon sealant around the edge of the sensor to help hold it in place.

It's difficult to get access to the sensor, so an easy solution would be preferable. Equally though, I don't want make the sensor a nightmare to remove should it ever have to be replaced again.

Would appreciate any advise

Thanks

Loctite on the screws and a little around the lip where it joins then maybe a cable tie to hold it in place while it goes off?
