Hoping somebody can help.

I need to get a ball joint out of my range rover. However, with much swearing, sweating and snapping tools it seesm quite resilient.

I can't even get it to a garage because of the 'efforts' i've already put into it.

I;ve managed to snap a scissor type ball joint remover and bent a cheapish 5" G clamp . It's not going to come out easily!

I think i've found a suitable tool that should get it out:

However i'm loatehd to spend the £200 for a single operation that still may not work.

Does anybody have one of these tools that i may be able to borrow/attempt?

Or anybody have any better ideas of how to get this thing out?

Based in sheffield, but happy to go a reasonable distance to pick one up and exchange for several beers if it works!!!

Steve

If it's just a splitter you want then get one of these

Also, I'm sure there will be a rangerover website where you can ask advice - probably someone local to you can help.

In fact here you go...

If you have a copper headed hammer, when you have the splitter in place and under pressure, give the arm through which the ball joint locates a stout clout. It usually works.

I've used both a Sykes Pickavant scissor splitter and a Snap On fork splitter for years and never broken either or failed to get the joint to come apart. If all else fails try some heat.
