Basically Girlfriends car is having a bit of a bad week. Now every time its started without any throttle input it sounds as if its going to stall or it will stall. Now its been running fine until yesterday. I was driving it and doing about 60 mph when it suddenly jerked and then the fuel injection light has come on and has stayed illuminated.
Checked the spark plugs and none are loose and all firing normally, Air filter is clean, cant see any loose hoses or anything on the engine. And with the exception of what seems to be a idle issue it drives normally.
Its run on normal unleaded all the time but she did put super unleaded in at the weekend as thats all that was available after the petrol drama last week.
Just wondering what could be wrong?
Throw some injector cleaner into the tank first.
Could be several things, but it's a possibility that if there was no more petrol left at the petrol station, and she had to put Super in, then it is a chance she may have 'The Dregs of the Barrell'. So it could be poor fuel.
Throttle position sensor?
Dead / blocked cat?
Oxygen sensor failure?
