Passenger door window non operative. Know what the issue is... Corodded pins in the door connector ( so corroded when I pulled the connector out it only left half the pins in the female portion)

Non operative window not really an issue BUT.

The window sits maybe 5mm lower than the seal try as I might I cannot get it to stay any higher. I've lifted it it the full way and remounted the motor to lock it but it's dropping still.

What the hell can I jam it with in place of the leck tape over the gap that it's currently wearing.

I had this problem withe the rear passenger side door on our banger a couple of months ago. Motor failed in the down position and it wouldn't go back up.

The issue was that the motor drives the mechanism via a 90 degree worm gear assembly so it won't back-wind, and the only real way drive to to the top end of its travel is via the motor shaft itself (the worm is integrated into it). This meant I had to disassemble the door card, unstick (half tear) the sound damping foam, take the back off the motor housing, clamp a drill chuck on the tail end of the motor spindle and drive it all the way home, then reassemble the lot. Took a good 45 minutes of exploring the inside of the door and working out how to wedge a drill halfway in a gap it wasn't meant to fit... I'm just waiting for the next window that fails now. Bloody French cars.

Anyway that's my advice try and drive the motor is you can, don't suppose you could just bypass the corroded connector with a chocolate blocks just to make the circuit work again?

Driving the motor is a possibility I guess will have a further poke about.

I bloody hate car wiring.

push it up again and then tape it to the bottom of the frame to hold it there ?

If it's not important and depending on the value of the car...

Sikaflex or super glue?

I'm pretty reluctant to glue it because it would actually be nice to get it working again but in the mean time I'll give taping it up another go.

Cheers

My old A3 had a piece of 2x2 wedged under the passenger window. Never got around to fixing it properly…

Just wind it up with a live straight to the motor

I went 2 years with a spare suction cup mount on my drivers side window to operate it. I'd still be doing it now if someone hadn't driven into me and written the car off

Push it up and use half a clothes peg at the bottom as a wedge.

Also opted for door card off and shove a lump of wood in the door.

If it's just a wiring thing, you can probably just improvise with some crimp fittings. Otherwise I've found whole mechanisms fairly cheap and easier to replace than components, especially as it's normally more than one piece that has gone wrong.
