Last month my car (C4 Picasso) went it to the dealer for a recall and they changed the clutch master cylinder.
Last night i went to top the washer fluid up and noticed a bottle sat on top of the under tray.

It’s an empty DOT 4 bottle with some rubber tubing wrapped around that has a metal bracket fashioned to it to hang it from something. The rubber tube goes from the screw top lid and is attached to an arm coming from the front of the engine (low down). Pics would be useful i know but not sure how to do them now without photobucket/Flickr!

It basically looks like the mechanic has used it as an overflow device? And forgot to remove it. I guess he has been looking for it wondering where its gone! I can see where he has hung it from and it’s obviously worked loose.
The garage has closed now but its a big franchise so i rang the nearest dealer garage and they want me to pop in tomorrow night but tbh its a pain to stop by particularly if all they are going to do is pull the hose off. Just wondered if anybody knows if i can just detach the hose and chuck it all away..?
I have no idea if there’ll be a leak if i take it off or if there is a vale to close off

It’ll be a bottle he’s used to catch the fluid coming out as he was bleeding the system through. You can safely pull it off, if the bleed nipple was open you’d have lost the clutch by now.

Check there is a bleed nipple to close of - a small open ended spanner would do (usually around 8-10mm)
