Hi all,
After a year since my seizure i'm (hopefully) shortly going to be regain my driving licence. As the common insurers aren't likely to be interested does anyone have any recommendations wrt specialists - a quick net trawl isn't throwing up much for me (that might be just me though... ;0) ).
Not sure why it would effect your insurance. If a doc says you are ok to drive you are ok to drive.
You'll get stung ,hard. The DVLA revoked my licence for medical reasons ( the meds I was on made me hear things,I stopped taking them & 3 years later got my licence back) lost all my no claims too. Spend a lot of time trawling through the internet. Good luck.
You would be best off asking an insurance broker to find suitable insurance for you. I had similar recently with business insurance - the location of the new office put it at risk of flooding (despite it being on the 4th floor - the postcode was enough to set alarm bells off). All the online searches I made came up blank so I got a broker to find cover for us.
Have you tried going back to the insurer you were with beforehand? That'd be a good starting point. Fwiw, insurers cannot discriminate on grounds of disability; the dvla and your doctor decide whether you can drive or not.
If you aren't getting anywhere try a broker.

Well, yes. If the postcode floods then your business will be affected, both from a business interruption point of view and because a flood to the lower levels of a building might affect services and the building structure. And mould / damp in the interior.
So it's important that you're not able to get a straightforward quote - and what you have got probably doesn't include some elements of cover.
