Nova Scotia to be more specific. Any car hire companies you'd recommend? Or one to avoid?
Plan (roughly) is to fly to Halifax, bus into town for two or three days then pick up a hire car and head off to see the rest of Nova Scotia. Drop it off at the airport on our return.

Whenever we’ve done it (Calgary) we’ve just checked holiday autos and gone off that.
We're in Ontario and use Enterprise who have had good service and competitive, although when I'm back in the UK found them to be overpriced (currently). Best deals are sometimes offered with flights.
Cheers chaps, much appreciated. Will check those out.
Pretty sure we hired from here as the hire places near Halifax airport were all booked:

It's worth noting that there is a big shortage of rental cars over here so I'd book something as soon as possible.
Thanks walleater. That's good to know. Will get the car booked asap now.

I don't think the shortage is unique to Canada based on the stupidly high prices I'm having to suck up for a UK hire car 😠
