Hoping someone can help me with this as I'm stumped!

My son has 2002 Corsa SXI, and has recently replaced the battery and then the alternator thinking first one then the other was faulty as the car not charging.
I've tested the output of the alternator and its giving 14 volts at both the terminal and also the connection to the starter, however only 12.5 volts are reaching the battery.
Have checked all the earths and they seem ok.

Any thought please?

Cheers

Check Continuity and resistance from alternator to battery/starter terminal broke wire or high resistance from a poor conection.

As above said, wire from altanator (usually) goes to the starter then on to battery. But it's a big thick wire so rare to break!!! But check the battery terminals, clean/tight and if easy have a look at the earth condition too

Regulator? My chum also had similar symptons recently - Turned out to be central locking draining the juice.

Connect volt meter to battery positive terminal then alternator output if you get a reading of about 2 volts that confirms you have a volts drop on positive circuit check all connections back.this can also be done from battery earth to engine and then body to check earths trace back as reqd.can also try running a jump lead from alternator pos to battery pos and recheck readings.be carefully not to short out on anything though.

Is the starter motor getting warm? Have had an astra where the starter motor had failed and was causing a similar issue.
