Saab 9-3 turbo or mk4 golf gti non turbo?
same price, same insurance cost, more space for bikes in the saab, and quicker... not sure about reliability though
My issue with the SAAB would be parts availability and costs.
The golf will be cheap to run and easy to look after but not the fastest of cars around.
The saab is an X reg so i'm hoping parts would be available from scrapyards... plus they're only £1k so if I get a couple years out of it i'm happy
I've been through this myself - SAABs are cheap now because people think they cannot get parts for them. They are wrong as there are no shortages (and non likely in the foreseeable future). The problems they do tend to have though are fairly terminal electrical faults and bulkhead separation issues on the older pre GM ones. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock whilst stationary and see of you can see the pedals move.
Cheers, SAAB it is then!
