I'm after a dual clutch, diesel with 4wd. AFAIK only VAG do them.
Even so, I'm confused about which models come with these options. Do SEAT do 4wd? Do Skoda do 'hot' diesels any more?
Any ideas appreciated.
Skoda do hottish diesels, well the 170hp DSG Scouts have four wheel drive too.
I think they also do a "normal" four wheel drive as well.
Seat do a 4Motion type Altea TDi, supposed to be quite good, there is also the VW Tiguan Tdi 4Motion.
I use a VW Passat V6 Fsi 4 Motion with DSG auto-box (Its second from new on a 55 plate) and to be honest its not the best auto box I have driven even having been recently serviced with gear box oil/filter change. Dont get me wrong the grip is okay from the 4 Motion and the V6 3.2 Audi engine in it pulls well but I would prefer a manual.
How about a Subaru Legacy in their Boxer Diesel Engine variety? Again have had a few days driving the 3 lire R version and that is a lovely car.
If its for towing then you can forget the Mazda 6 MPS as it cannot have a tow bar fitted.
Skoda do 140hp DSG 4X4 in the Superb, the Scout and the Yeti. The 170 4x4 is currently only in manual, for now......
many thanks - seems like these are rarer than hen's teeth - as i suspected. Am veering towards the DSG Scout, as the Altea is a manual. Can't seem to find one for sale tho. Looks like I'll have to go for the TDI and DSG but no 4x4 as these are far more common. Thanks
You can have an Octavia vrs 170 diesel with dsg. No 4x4 though. New versions are great. Only not quite as great as my petrol one 🙂
Ford do a dual clutch, Powershift, no 4wd but better to drive.
There is (or was) a 4x4 Octy, I assume it was available with DSG?
Otherwise - Audi TT Tdi 🙂
Pretty certain my brother-in-law has a 3.0TDi A6 which is 4 wheel drive and has the DSG gearbox in it.
