You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
is there such a thing? hoovering the car is an extension lead nightmare.
Yes, maplin do decent cheap inverters for laptops etc.

However - the amount of draw you need for a hoover will be way too much. Get a portable vac!
Something like this:

would be a better bet. Note though that the price doesn't include a battery.
How many batteries does your car have in it, mine has only one!
Well, mine has 2 - a starter and an 85 a/h leisure battery. Oh and 4 solar panels on the roof ( for running a fridge when parked up ).
To run a hoover you would need at least a modified or pure sine wave inverter, and a big one at that. It would need its own cables direct to the battery and you would need the car engine running as well.
Just get a battery hoover 🙂
P.S If we are willy waving, mine has 1x 110a/hr and 2x 85a/hr batteries but I let the side down as I don't have any solar panels 🙂 My inverter is also a cheapo job that will run a jig saw at half speed but won't even start a circular saw 🙂
<willy found wanting >
🙁
Could have done with adding "... and I still wouldn't want to try running a hoover via an inverter" to the end of my post for clarity.
If its that much of a nightmare, take it to your local hand car wash, I do when it's cold or I'm feeling lazy. £15 well spent for inside & out, washed, polished, hoovered & glass cleaned.
I think what the others are saying is that if you plug in a hoover to a normal car lighter socked inverter you'll quickly need to change the fuse.
same goes for a dremel, works for a bit, load it too much and bang goes the fuse. 🙂
