Apparently it was an issue after an update. So once I could no problem, now no picture has an address attached regardless of where I get it from.
Has anyone any ideas how to help me?

Email the copyright holder 😉

How are you trying to find the address? Take it you've tried to open the image in a new tab in your browser then copy from the address bar?

I'd love to help but I've no idea what you're talking about. Can you rephrase the question? When you 'once could' what steps did you take?

"Windows" is a broad church, you might as well say "computer". Do you mean an app or a web browser or something else?

"Apparently" what according to whom?

If you turn the image over the URL is written on the back

Right click on the image. Select "Copy image address" or "Open image in a new tab".

The old Underside Resource Locator.

I’d love to help but I’ve no idea what you’re talking about

Sorry.

I was always able to just click on an image and there the address was, so I could upload to forums like this.
Now any image I view doesn't appear to have that address. I can save, and still no address. Even my saved pictures or flickr, none have the address.

I googled the issue, and it appears it was a common problem after a windows update. Now all discussions are closed.

In MS Edge according to my broad Google search. Use Google Chrome.... that'd fix it.

(Just looked on my laptop and it has "Copy image link" when I right-click on an image. Don't you see that?)

Ta Daaaa....

I wasn't getting copy image address or link, just the option to save.
Changed browser. Now I do get copy link.

As I said it was never a problem until end of last year?

The link above isn't for an image, it doesn't end in .jpg, .gif, etc. This is it here:

That's annoying. Check a lot of my saved images. I can share. That takes me to an option to copy the link, press that and it says copied. but it's not working like the images that actually have the copy link option?

Try again

That's the same URL. It's not a link to an image.

@oldgit - I can't see any of the images in your posts but you may have been retrieving the url even so. Looking at the html, the last one has an extra http:// at the start, which might be the problem. When you paste the link into the box, delete the http:// that's already there. This should be your image, I hope:

cx test

If you still have problems, you'll need to tell us where 'your' images are, for example, on Flikr, on another photo website, etc.

Google Drive is not a photo hosting site, it is a file store. You can't (as far as I'm aware) embed them into the forum directly from there, you'll need to upload them somewhere else.

Cougar. That would explain how easy it was to post that earlier image.
Yet I still couldn't embed images from my saved pictures.
When I searched the issue, the upgrade that started the issue was a joint Windows Google affair?

Probably been noticed, but the first link was wrong anyway
"http://https//1drv.ms/u/s!AlvYXwNXIY8WsiLCAYVZH0-uFNZ_"

needed the second "https//" removed

and that last one is a link to the page not the image, the jpg is
[img] https://tinyurl.com/26tzymb3 [/img]

(from right-click copy image address, then getting a tinyurl of the link, cos it's too long and messy)

Tried from Flickr. right click gives no option to copy, share nothing. Save and print and cast only

I used to use ctrlq.org which now leads here - can't say I've tried since it shifted though.

https://www.labnol.org/embed/google/photos/

It will generate a proper copy-pastable link to your Google drive hosted photos from the not-an-image-link the Google will spit out at you.

For me, if I'm viewing a single image (not an album) in Flickr, there are 3 icons at bottom right, a star, a leaping arrow and download arrow. The leaping arrow in the middle is Share and gives a url for the image.

aint never gonna work
(I got "Create QR code for this image" which is a new one on me 😀 )

From flickr, use this button

[url= https://i.postimg.cc/xNqsjwth/Flicker-Share-button.pn g" target="_blank">https://i.postimg.cc/xNqsjwth/Flicker-Share-button.pn g"/> [/img][/url]

then choose the "BBCode" option and the desired size and copy the link.

[url= https://i.postimg.cc/gr0tKhms/Flickr-share-2.pn g" target="_blank">https://i.postimg.cc/gr0tKhms/Flickr-share-2.pn g"/> [/img][/url]
paste it directly into the textbox here - DON'T use the "img" popup
