Hi, my wife has a new Apple Mac and her printer now won’t work, the Canon website says the printer is no longer compatible. Is there a way round this anyone knows or is it a case of throwing away a perfectly good printer just to basically buy the same slightly newer version? Cheers
Looking on the canon website, that printer hasn’t been supported since ios10.15 (Catalina - released 4 years ago).
I would start by downloading the Catalina driver and seeing if it works (if the os doesn’t auto detect the printer and work it out itself).
Are you trying to print wirelessly or connected?

I'm pretty sure I solved a similar problem (newer MacOS + older printer) using CUPS open source drivers;

Thank you for the replies, I’ll have a go and try and get it sorted.
