does anyone happen to know which was the first canon dslr with video, I want a video camera for a holiday, and am taking a canon dslr so I thought if I can get a cheap body i could use that, and also have it for a back up body , or should i just get a go pro it wont be used for biking
500D was the first xxxD model. All the 1x00D models do it. High end I'm not sure.
Here's all of them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Canon_EOS_digital_cameras
The 5DmkII was the first
Then 7D
Then as Cougar says there was the 500D and 60D
(some people hacked the 450D and 50D to do it with Magic Lantern)
I have the 60D and find it nicer to handle than the 500D and it also has 720p60.
Should be pretty reasonably priced by now.
This seems a good price. I can't remember whether it was the 700D or the 750D that introduced the new video focussing system.

It's worth handling them though - I never got on with the smaller Canons.
(That's where I bought the 60D from and it qualified for cashback as they are in the UK)
cheers guys I only want a cheapie as I will only use it for this holiday
