and one of these

Hat no. 1 doesnt exactly look cool !

Hat no.2 really hurts your head after about an hour of wearing it, I find this with all baseball caps they sort of feel tight even if you have it in a loose fit.

So what can you recommend that looks cool and doesn't feel restricting ?

Kangol bamboo (made from bamboo fibre, lightweight and full of tiny holes so very breathable but keep sun off)

Just picked up an official TdF Grand Depart Yorkshire flat cap. £20 and looks nice. All black with black stitching

I love my Tilly, but I don't think it is cool. Bloody awesome come rain or shine, comfy and about 14 years or so after purchase I am beginning to believe their outrageous durability claims.
But no, not cool...

Tilly LT6B lightweight. So light you barely notice it. Had mine for years.

I personally favour the 6-panel duckbill cloth cap:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/380880801955?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=t&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0
Has all the advantages of the baseball cap, ie keeping the sun out of your eyes, rain off your glasses, but much more stylish.

^^^ This one.

Mine is the cloth 8-panel driving cap by Ben Shearman from TK Maxx which I think I paid £5 for and it looks like the 6-panel duckbill cap.

Been wearing my Rapha cycling cap whilst out on the fells, it's perfect.

Try Prendas for a normal cotton cycling cap.

If you like the cap style, and I'm presuming you do, try the Montane Robo Cap. It's bungy fastened and is quite large and very adjustable. I find it quite comfortable and have been wearing mine all weekend whilst working and didn't suffer any head pain but then I have a pin head. Are you the opposite...?

Spooky - my Tilley is 14 too! Still worn every summer. If sir prefers the cap style, Patagonia did a lightweight one for running. May still do.
These cover all my hat requirements.
