Pic taken from a video he sent so not great quality.

Anyway, not much to go on but knowing STW... where do you think (In England) he proposed today?

For clarity, I know where he popped the question, but can you work it out from this pretty standard stream pic?

I bet someone does!

(She said yes btw!)

I mentioned it but it turned out to be a hard sell. 😁

If no one gets it by midnight I'll give a small clue.

I'd have been petrified of dropping the ring down the slates of the bridge and into the water.

Also congrats

Congrats to the family! I’m guessing but it looks like a bridge. A wooden one. Over a stream.

Now the image is loading, it looks like a bridge crossing a wee burn (not wee in the pic) just south of Hallglen in Falkirk...I suspect it isn't, but it looks very similar to it.

Hardcastle Crags riverside path?

It looks more like a hostage situation than a proposal, is he begging for his life?

^^Not been guessed yet. 😁

I took the screen grab just before she turned around and saw him. My lad timed it just right as his lilun' had just been picked up by his mum, blocking the view of him kneeling. 😁

Looks like the River Teign upstream of Fingle Bridge on Dartmoor, but that looks like a lot of places so could be anywhere...

I wrote a massive list of places around England where hermit caves etc were located… one quite close to a VW dealership. Then accidentally refreshed the browser.

Congratulations to everyone and good wishes for a happy life.

I do have a question, though. Why are you asking people to guess where your son proposed?

Is the answer a forum in-joke?

Justa bit of a laugh really. I guarantee that someone on here has been to this place. Whether they click on the thread or recognise the place by the pic/ hints, is another matter! 😁

It looks a lot like many bridges over rivers on Dartmoor, I can't link any of them to hermit crabs and at a loss.

I take it you've been there mate or just good detective work? 😁 It's a lovely spot to walk up to, really magical.

I really miss Cornwall, not been there in 10 years. Many great memories from childhood up.

Luckily my son (and grandsons?) will hopefully love it as much as me too.

Something magical about seeing my son crab fishing from the same rocks on Crantock beach as I did as a kid... and he'll get to see his sons doing the same. Proper circle of life stuff!

Bit of both, I've been there but it was some time ago, so did a Google to check that bridge. Wanted to be sure before I committed an answer.

It's a beautiful part of the world but I haven't been there for a good while either.

Spent a good bit of time there over the years when the army had an adventurous training camp in Cornwall.

I'd like to go back but the commute from up north would be hellish.

Do any of you guys, when seeing a ghosted out street name, hidden house etc. On the TV, YouTube etc. Do an internet stalk, just to see if your detective skills are up to scratch.

More they hide, the more you search. Bit like that Google map game.

?
