Genius
Excellent 😆
Brilliant! Thanks for posting.
That is one of the cleverest bits of design i've ever seen, bravo!
Took me far too long to get that
me too 😳
I bet that spawns a few copies.
Glad I'm not the only one who suffered a pause before it clicked.
That is indeed great 🙂
Whooosh.
Right over my head. *shrugs*
Brilliant, thanks for posting this!
That's is genius. Nice one!

It is, one would assume, the requested poster at the venue.
And yes, it took me a minute as well.
That is either so incredibly clever and genius that I still just don't get it, or it's so obvious as to be really rather dull (the poster being requested is the text exchange)
^^^ it's the first one 🙂
And? So he wants some posters to display so people know what's on at a music venue. *shrugs and shakes head*
I was ok once I spotted the frame.
Not sure what people don't get - it's a mocked up poster to look like a conversation about a poster, with all the information on it but done in a way that is compulsive to read and (relatively) memorable.
Clever.
or its so on trend Grandad doesnt get it 😆That is either so incredibly clever and genius that I still just don't get it, or it's so obvious as to be really rather dull
Good stuff 😀
You mean that's not a phone? It's a tablet then? *shrugs and raises eyebrow".
How many tablets do you know with a wooden frame? Do you have an iAtari?
Right over my head.
That's the actual poster, made to look like the conversation that was had to ask for the poster.
I'd like to think it was an actual screenshot, but perhaps it isn't.
I don't think it is the actual poster, although it is an actual poster, it is a guy who takes the piss out of freeloaders*, he has supplied them with that to take the piss, he has done plenty of similar things.
If they have taken his piss take, and used it for the promotional material then it does become quite clever.
*They may not be real scenarios, they could be amusing fictional human interactions.

Brilliant!Reminds me of this one
that really is genius, full marks
i'm stealing that idea! 😆
Brilliant 🙂
Reminds me of the Missing Missy thing from 27B/6
Woosh
BrilliantReminds me of the Missing Missy thing from 27B/6
That website is a great way to lose an entire evening
^^^ it's the first one
No, it really is the second one.
Good work sir! You should be proud of that 🙂
But why does he say "I love you Dave" at the end? Is there more to this doing posters than I understand? *shrugs and squints*
Actually, thinking about it a bit more, I think it is a style copy/rip off/tribute to the David Thorne stuff on 27b/6.
But why does he say "I love you Dave" at the end?
Usually on the source material he gets told to **** off or similar at the end, guess it is a alternative twist on that.
But why would customer or artist tell the other to * off or similar or do they really want to * each other and this exchange is cryptic so if their wives pick up their phones no-one will suspect anything? So it's really about Dave and Tom, well there's nothing wrong with that, what people do behind closed doors is none of my business.
Anyhow, I think I've got it now. Thanks all.
*smiles contentedly*

How much do you have to think about something that the OP clearly references in the thread title?! 😆

Enough to decide between it being by the said person or copied in style from.
It is not 27/b, its obviously English due to the words and diction, plus a simple google shows it is for a pub in Bridgnorth.
It is not really that similar to David Thorne as our David did not treat the customer with utter contempt, in fact he was pleasant and chirpy.
I assumed Dave had already agreed to do the posters either as a favour or he already worked there or something. Then he started the conversation like that and realised it would be cool do just do that for the poster - either deliberately re-creating the conversation as a sort of ironic piece of meta-art; or having the idea of being really lazy by taking the screenshot then realising it would actually work both as an informative poster and a great artistic gag.
Worked though didn't it?
Yeah seems like something like that. I like it.
Anyone going to see Michaela Wylde on Friday?
But why does he say "I love you Dave" at the end? Is there more to this doing posters than I understand? *shrugs and squints*
Maybe that was the "happy ending" bit?
Last place I worked did something similar to this as a leaving card.
Basically an email chain along the lines of:
Pete to Rascal "Can you make a leaving card for John? He leaves on Friday."
Rascal replies "Oh that ****, No, I'm too busy. Ask Mike."
Pete to Mike: "Morning Mike. John's leaving Friday...can you knock up a card please?"
Mike to Pete: "Can you ask Amy? That John is a right nobber."
Etc etc until there's an email chain 30 people long...which is then printed out as the front of John's oversized card.
Of course everyone likes John really...comments are just for comic effect and just to see the look on his face 😛
