Got 12Gig of music on the laptop and trying to think how I could Bluetooth it to some speakers at work without loading it on the phone. Laptop reads the phone SD, but doesn't seem to work in the other direction. Need a solution now, so might have to copy over selected tunes.

I'm confused.

You have music on your laptop that you want to send over Bluetooth to some speakers?

Where does the phone come in? Why not just use Bluetooth from the laptop?
Most modern laptops have it built in and if not then a Bluetooth-USB dongle is pennies.

Or am I misunderstanding something?

Install plex media server on your laptop
Install plex client on your phone
you should then be able to access your songs on the laptop remotely

Install plex media server on your laptop

And make sure you have plenty of spare room on your HDD because Plex is a massive space hog (for all its meta stuff it pins to your media files). I took it off mine as my SSD didnt have 10s of GB spare.

"Here's no details at all, what should I do? Also, I get grumpy if you ask questions."

Can't say as I blame you for being confused.

Was thinking something very similar only yesterday when i noticed a for sale ad on the works notice board for personal cloud storage. Seemingly you can now get your own personal storage hard drive that you can connect to your wifi box and access it from all you digital appliance and from outwith the house. No idea if they are effective but certainly looks interesting for centralizing storage of music, pics, videos etc for everyone in the house to access.....anyone got any experience of this type of thing in action? or reccomendations?
