Can we have a sticky on 'how to post photos' and other special forum features?

Here is an example of a Google Photos generated link. How do I get the actual picture to appear?

I think WCA is asking how to post an actual image rather than the Google “link” with a preview image?

Full members can post photos directly into threads. I don't know if theres another way for free members but postimages.org and the 'hotlink for forums' still works.

No, but that also depends on the hosting site as some won’t allow without a link.

with her puppies out

Is that a reference to her knockers or her cubs?

I've tried to post a picture. It said it was all good , I ticked the box but no image has appeared. I don't know if other people can see it

Is it one of you dressed in striped tee and camo shorts with a chain wallet?  Probably been censored on grounds of poor taste 🤣

To be fair it's not that obvious and is a good example of "things you have to do on Singletrack, but not the rest of the internet"

Like Google Photos. You either paste it into the posting box area or get it hosted on a site that allows direct linking (postimg.org, for example) and post the URL

Tick box, select  and insert is fairly standard IT thing though. Not just the entire internet.

I'm not a fan of the moaning that goes on about the functionality of this forum in general and particularly from free members when complaining about adverts, but having a simple upload tool in the same toolbar as all the other formatting options was a lot more intuitive than the totally separate 'My Media' method.

There you go, that's as much anger as I can generate about this topic. 🙂

For full members at least, you can literally just copy and paste images directly into the editor.

And for us freeloaders.

You just need to paste the .jpeg web link into the next, no code required.

Upload to imgur, once uploaded go to your photo and this is the critical bit.... Click on the image. Share button will give you the .jpeg link.
