Looks like I'm joining your ranks: we're going to foster a guide dog from next month. Can't wait!
Visited a new dog field this weekend, 4.7 acres of open field and woodland.
The hounds preferred the sandpit!

Are you puppy raising or boarding for guide dogs?
We've loved doing it but it has meant we are now dog parents to Herbert who didn't make the grade. We've been incredibly lucky with our puppy adviser and local group. Exciting times ahead and looking forward to updates
Are you puppy raising or boarding for guide dogs?
The latter. We look after the dog evenings and weekends.
Frankie and his stick du jour:

OOOHHHH! A dog thread! Prepare for Toby spam!!!

Can we share videos on here or is that a step too far for the STW hamsters at the moment?
Upload them to imgur and share them. Seemed to work when i did it.
This is what she brought back home.
Oh dear. ?
If you trim his head shorter he will look a lot more balanced, The chief dog servant in our house prefers Henry short, about the same length as Chewie's body. You're not fixing them feet though, they are weird.
Anyone else use the boomer with a herder?? He loves it, a bit too much sometimes. I think he would just go until he collapsed if I let him
“Helping” to alter the curtains!

Nice walk on Cheswick Sands this evening.
I have absolutely NOT been digging in the garden

All that not digging is quite tiring tho!

Swapping the morning morning walk from a park to a windswept beach is delightful.

The hounds is pooped after an hour of charging about sniffing seaweed and chasing gulls.

@boomerlives - I love this thread. So many happy doggos in nice places.
Roxie is now 100% chasing Lola the Lab everywhere. So after an hour of 'wooooahh what is that SMELL' woodland activity, she's currently in 'static rug' mode and I don't expect that to change for a couple of hours!
I should get one of those GPS trackers, we walked just under 4k with 80m of climbing according to my Garmin. Dogs must have done double or triple that mostly at high speed!
Who knew the hound was so cultured?

6 months old, one big walk and one short walk. One tired puppa
a brief moment of the pup not attempting to eat the ear of the senior dog.

That's either a small hay bale or a much bigger dog than I was expecting!
Harold is a big handsome boy.
What lights are we wearing this season?

The hound considering a life at sea. Then she remembered she doesn't like getting wet so we went to the pub for lunch.
Well, we've been thinking about getting a second dog for a while and finally decided to push the button during the summer holidays – last week we picked up Maple (I wanted to call her Gizmo because of her colouring/patching but was over-ruled by our teenage girls as all pets have to have food-related names – our other dog is called Toffee).
So here she is – a Cavalier King Charles / Shih Tzu cross (CavaTzu )...

And here she is with Toffee – Toffee isn't too sure yet, but we are getting there.

Randal won a prize! (Best Dog in Show and 2nd Best Rescue)
Randal is a "Handsome Boy".
That head tilt!
Not out dog, but this cheeky little chap is wandering around the restaurant hoovering scraps.

Oscar with his older brother Angus.
Early morning clambering on the Cuillin, recharging his batteries afterwards, beach in the evening.
A loved dog has an awesome life*

Whats the tent, it looks reasonably light and also dog proof.
My dads '72 force10 mk4 is bomb proof but its not a carrier
It's a Nordick Ydun - it's a car camping tent as it's polycotton and heavy.
It's in the PSA thread, OMM are selling them off cheap at £160
Ah,in that case my vango is still going strong 🙂
I’m not really a dog person myself, we have cats instead (obviously I crave contempt, not affection), but called in on my best mate yesterday and he’s just retired from the forces which means he can get a dog again. He always had dogs when we were kids. Say hello to Tina, who is ridiculously cute and quite bitey (in a playful way). Zonked out after an afternoon of running around like a lunatic…

Agree, i am emotionally invested in kiwi updates.
Well to be fair, most of the doggos on here.
Loving all the doggie pics and the places they go and how they sleep. Ok. Will follow up with the Kiwi hair reconstruction! So far it’s coming down the back and over the head. I’ll get better shots tomorrow
In the meantime here is a snap of her first trip to the Forest with her own personal bodyguard.

Lovely photo. There is something wonderful about seeing a hound going full pelt on a beach. It’s the glee in their eye and the enjoyment of just running they exhibit. Followed by hours of snoring and farting as they rest up after!
Happy third gotcha day to our Stacey. Here's to many more years of marathon naps, frantic zoomies and adventures together.

Oscar and his half brother Angus visiting the local pet shop.

Cass and Jake out this morning. They’re starting to do the superiority thing now so there’s some interesting squabbles.
Been away for a week, just catching up on excellent doggo pics 🙂
And how’s Roxie? Still gorgeous I see.
This Roxie? She's now bigger than Lola the Lab at just over 7 months. Think she's mostly fully grown now. Somehow found a big muddy puddle earlier, so we let her dry off, then comb out the mud then vac the floor. It's become a bit of a daily ritual!

This pic is her mum and other siblings that belong to the person we got her from. When all the dogs are together, it's carnage!
Barni the trail dog was out for an evening running alongside us last night. He loves it! You have to open the gates for him though. He can’t do cattle grids D

More Nala spam...

@Binners - I've just come down that way after a spin across the moor on the Fat bike!
It was a gift of an evening last night, I see. Make the most - it'll be a long winter
@Alex - that car must take some vacuuming after that lot have been in the back.! I recall taking Ed the retriever around the dunes near Formby and being impressed how clean he was for once when we got back.
And then watching 2lbs of sand being deposited on the carpet as his undercarriage dried.
@boomerlives - thankfully that's not my car 🙂 The back of my wife's car tho is a real life test of any vacuum with 'pet hair removal" attachments!
Mud? We know about mud!

We have our cockers well trained, if we're passing a stream etc out on a walk on a warm day, we can let them off lead and they'll jump in for a swim, splash, drink and come straight back to us. However I feared the worst when this one, off lead anyway, shot down into a drainage ditch. Very stinky muddy drainage ditch. Managed to prevent our other cocker following suit.
As we were heading for a cafe stop in town, we had had to find a way to clean her up. Right next to our town centre is the local cattle market, and the lads there were washing down after the previous days sheep sales, so we borrowed a hose for the clean up.
@boomerlives - last night was just perfect. An awesome sunset as the supermoon came up over the other side of the valley. To keep it slightly dog related, you can spot Barni leading the way here, up to Pilgrims Cross.
I would have headed out tonight too but last night I’d presumed Interstellar would be a bit drier than it was and then my back wheel tried to overtake my front resulting in a bit of a sprained wrist 🙁

Anyone else own a bin obsessed ex street dog?

Anyone else own a bin obsessed ex street dog?
Yep, although when she first encountered an over filled wheelie bin with stuff sticking out it was treated with suspicion and growled at

Dropped both offspring off to various far flung locations. Had friends coming in all day to see the dogs and make sure they get fed. And THIS is what we came back to.
Roxie: Wasn't me, nothing to do with me at all. I know I've been pawing at the bed and been told off before but it's definitely not me!
Lola: It's Roxie. Or the cats.
Anyway, we're not replacing it, it was getting ready for recycling anyway, but now it's definitely bin-food!
Bit of a wet walk today! Takes a while to dry Roxie. Who then smells like "Swamp Dog"

Having stolen loads of sweetcorn on the walk, now she's keen to have an avocado dessert! Not happening 🙂

My! What big ears you have!

Say hello to Milo. Lily was seemingly depressed following Rusty's departure, so we got her this bundle of trouble. She hates him, but he's rather cute.
