Terrible photo, but he did seem awfy pleased to be given that carrot.
@relapsed_mandalorian that’s a great video looks confused.
@relapsed mandalorian
Quick look round to see if anyone saw that, nope, never happened 😀
Barney sometimes ends up in a heap running across undulating fields or on a beach. He likes running and bouncing around in long grass too, which is fine until the ground disappears and rolls down a bank.
Not much running about this weekend though, more lying about and enjoying the sun.
Bert helping out with a spannering session!

Oscar enjoying the fire pit table.
He's never happier than when he's at the beach

Nice Lab.
Buddy looks so proud of himself.
I quite fancy canicross. Not sure if Lola would though. Not one for pulling at all. Flopping to the ground for street chip consumption rather stops all forward moment.
What flavour Jeffl?
Pup (Roxi) getting noticeably bigger (and heavier). Settled in well.
Lola still not 100% convinced a second dog is a good idea, but she's starting to play with Roxi a bit. Until the pup bites her ear/tail/leg after which the 'get away from me fool' growl is deployed 🙂

Not mine and he's a 4 week old "Toller". Looking forward to pet-sitting duties.
Loved a dog as a kid, would like another, my kids would also like one, but I'm a realist and know that most of the dog care would fall to me and I just don't have the time that a dog would deserve.
As for encounters with dogs of late, vast majority have been fine, some good, there has been the odd ankle biter who thinks that I'm some sort of threat that must be chased and barked at but no real issues.
In the past I've had plenty more negative encounters, especially when on the bike but I reckon that these were younger dogs from the covid boom, now all much older and more relaxed.
I do wish that dog owners would be a bit more empathetic to others who do not like dogs, and don't let their dog approach strangers (even playfullly) who may have a genuine fear of dogs.
Nice photos and stories on here.
Here's another Roksy.....not a morning girl...always pops down to say hello while the kettle's boiling, and then back upstairs and hijacks the warm spot someone's left behind

And now it's summer, shoes must be taken into the garden....

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever !!
Nice photo
There's a bloke we run into occasionally on Marsden Moor with 2 of them. Lovely dogs
@joshvegas not entirely sure as he's a rescue. Although we think a mixture of collie and lab.
Oh and lots of stupid as well 🤣
He does have that look about him. Really similar in lots orlf respects to lola, i wondered if he was a rommie rescue!
Handsome laddie.
Yeah he was imported from Romania 😀
Aha! Curly bushy tail?
Anyone else's hound like to climb and jump off things?
Have you checked she isn't a giraffe?
Have you checked she isn’t a giraffe?

Roxi now off the lead in the fields next to our house. Lola teaching her the fabled 'poo harvesting' secrets 🙂 She's put on over 25% body weight in just over two weeks. Proper little chubster! Growing so quick.
Awesome! The rate puppies grow is always amazing. Love the mentoring going on there, being shown the way by her big sis.
"There’s only one thing better than a dog. And that’s two dogs"
That's what I keep telling the wife but she's taking some persuading. Anyway, here's Afton. He's my best mate in the whole wide world. First dog we've ever had and it's a huge regret that we waited until we were nearly 40 to get one. I'll never be without one for the rest of my life...
@daveyboywonder - that's a very happy looking mutt!
@relapsed_mandalorianm- I'm sure she's noticeably bigger every day. Still her size is at least 50% hair! Lola has gone from not being happy, to tolerating the pup to playing with her a bit. The pup, obviously, just follows her round. It's quite sweet really!

C'mon keep up, I'm not waiting any longer 🙂
3rd birthday yesterday so another beach trip was in order

Finally getting to enjoy the garden, Stacey is more interested in Ms RM's pizza than anything else.

Cant quite believe that this gorgeous girl will be 3 next saturday.
She is my archery buddy and amazing arrow finder.
Leo looking very dapper. Top dog!
Sandy is happy that the weather is better and after a walk we can all chill outside.

no, I don’t know what it was either, but she was determined to get it…..
I'll just have a quick cool down and look handsome about it......
whats that?......
.....and we're off again.

We found out yesterday that our puppy has been accepted to go into guide dog training.
So proud but equally so sad that he'll be leaving us next month. He really is a gorgeous boy
Looking back at this thread, can't believe how much Roxi has grown in the three weeks we've had her. Now 3/4 height of our Lab but about 50% of that is probably fur (the other 50% being on the floor...). She's in the 'face eating' stage at the moment, but Lola (the lab) seems to be happy to have her around. Mostly 😉

Mixed emotions in the house this morning, it's been 3 years since we said goodbye to the foster that never left.
Archie had suffered significant abuse over the course of his life, he arrived at the Dogs Trust at the age of 12 for reasons never fully explained.
We were asked if we could provide him a temporary home as the kennels were causing him distress.

We never had the intention of adoption but then COVID happened and over the next 6 months we formed a strong bond and Archie started to regain his trust of people. So we asked if we could adopt him, he was likely destined for euthanasia as his 'declared' behaviours would probably prevent him being adopted and his kennel anxiety would push a decision.

Although we only got a year with him as arthritis came knocking, it was a year where he got nothing but love, affection and the best raw food we could find.

On a deeper level Archie gave me a purpose, structure and focus which helped me through an incredibly difficult time that I didn't recognise at first. Leaving behind a career, a huge part of my life and identity almost immediately into a pandemic was psychologically the hardest thing I've ever experienced.
Archie inadvertently guided me through that, it's probably why his absence still hits hard today.
He was the bestest of doggos as my niece used to say.

That's awesome news!
A grand jog out in the hills at the weekend

Now there's a quote the next time someone asks what the point of dogs is.p
This is furry godson, Milo, with the toy I sent him this week for his third birthday. Still a bit mad, but a lovely chap on the whole.

Nice sunny Sunday early morning at Hardcastle Crags with Bert.

Possibly my favorite thread on the Internet.
Our long dog came second in agility, another rosette

Max has decided to have a nap in the garden. A collie-flower if you will.
Despite a 10 mile ride up on Mynydd Du he still wants to play. I love this guy.
Roxi playing her favourite game "Which part of Lola shall I bite next" 🙂 Lola is fine with it, amazingly!

Rainshower? Down tools... And dog.
Huey is looking quite content after 3 days on the beach in Aberdovey here. As I post this, it's nearly 11pm, and he's properly knackered now

Beer
Bertie the beagle has spent the weekend with us. A real treat.

Oscar watching my daughter play cricket yesterday.
Woks up dog.
