I'm trying to get some tickets for the Rio Olympics and my wife has found www.tickets4summergames.com. Barring the fact that the name is horrific, is there any way of checking it actually has tickets? It's not an official seller but that may not matter if they have actual tickets to sell.
My instinct is that it's dodgy as sin but my wife would like someone else, even if that is a random person from a mountain bike forum, to verify this is the case!
Well the owner hasn't gone to any effort to hide his details
https://who.is/whois/https://www.tickets4summergames.com
And he's a registered company director
https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/7283312/blake-aspill
though it doesn't actually seem to do much...
[s]how would we verify it? you could always phone them and ask. If it does turn out to be dodgy... Are you any where near Sevenoaks?[/s]
EDIT: too slow...
dodgy! I'm on the website now and they are doing a rip roaring trade for random events that are not due to take part for another 2 years??
I agree with nemesis, go to the "official" ticket seller for the UK website instead cosport https://www.cosport.com/olympics/tickets.aspx
in terms of doing business on this site...I'm out
You've all echoed my thoughts, thanks all, the credit card shall remain in my pocket for the moment.
I know this is an old post but it comes up high in the list when the subject of Olympics tickets is searched so I thought that I would post this information for anyone that it might help.
tickets4summergames.com is a scam. Arrests have been made. See this BBC news artcle for more details:
