Rather late I know, but I opened my postal voting envelope this morning to realise there is only a voting slip for my Local candidates.

How / Can I vote in the General Election or have I messed up?

That's strange as you should be registered for both if you are registered at all is my understanding. My postal voting back had both local and GE ballot papers. Call them up. Too late for postal but you should be able to vote in person.

for my Local candidates

I take it you mean candidates for the local council election? Not local candidates for the general election?

Same thing happened to a mate of mine, turned out that the GE slips had to be reprinted multiple times and missed the post out. The reprinted slips were being delivered by hand and he got his on Friday evening. This was in Surrey Heath BTW.

Yes

But strangely my wife just called the local council electoral office and they've said that just one piece of paper is being used - e.g. the local mp vote for is also indicative of the general election.

??

Do you actually mean mp, not local councillor? If so, I'm beginning to doubt your understanding of the way a general election works.

You do know you only get to vote for the election of the local MP and not a national party/prime minister don't you?

I am a postal voter but yet to receive my ballot papers so rang council up they then explained they already sent them out.

Very fishy I sense in the Red Army Toon.

Hopefully I can get my ballot papers today as they are resending but if not then I can confirm there is electoral fraud somewhere.

It's a reality and there is fraud.

😀

A Monday/Tuesday morning brain freeze. Only if you're voting UKIP or SNP Jambalaya 😉
