Gareth of Aline MtB Coaching in Sheffield is one, I believe. Drop him an email. I'm sure if he can offer something he will.

So not quite South Manchester, but not a million miles away.

I think it’s a bit of a minefield. I’d listen to the Downtime podcast episode with Rob Copeland as a starter. He gives some advice for finding the right person to meet your needs. He’s an inspirational chap too.

Take your time to choose the right one and make sure they have experience. My one time I used one was a mates girlfriend who had just completed her training.

I was entered for a 24hr solo race, my first ever race longer than fun category in the Gorricks. She told me to break the race down into manageable sections (good advice). Don't think of the entirety but just about the next lap, or the next climb, or the next tree you will pass (good advice at 4am when wanting to die). Keep thinking, can I achieve this next section? If necessary,m reduce the section to the point you can say YES I CAN. Above all, remember, it is only 4 hours.

I said, actually, it is 24 hours.

She replied, Oh my God! you are screwed!

That last bit slightly undermined the earlier good work and probably wouldn't happen with a more experienced sports psychologist

If you ride a bike for 24 hours it's a psychiatrist you need.😊
