Our vendor is using http://www.woolleybevis.com/

and we are using
http://www.bbt-solicitors.co.uk/

although we used
http://crosbymooresolicitors.co.uk/ for our wills and they also do conveyancing and were friendly enough. Only reason we didn't use them for the house is that the other guys have a "special working relationship" with the estate agent and guaranteed a completion date.

Hi Tim - we used; http://www.woolleybevis.com/index.php?id=31&section=Department

Carol Blakey was very good she went well beyond what we expected and despite the process takign 6 months (!) and lots of extra hassle didn't charge us more than the original quote. She communicated really well and always spoke ont he phone when we called.

Well BBT and Wooeley Beavis are about to leave me my Mrs and my 7 week old daughter homeless so if it is not too late I would not recommend either of them. BBT sat on it too long, WB are being unhelpful and now the vendor wants to pull out if we don't exchange by the end of tomorrow. We have had everything in place from our point of view including insuring the property since Monday

Now now, don't tar everyone with the same brush. There are good and bad eggs everywhere. Sounds in your situation like the sellers themselves are just as much to blame.

The vendor wants his cash which I understand, if he doesn't sell he is going to rent it.
The vendor's solicitor has sat on our requests for a month then threatened us that they will walk away if we didn't exchange within 30mins as she was having a half day.
I have just had to look up the planning conditions on-line as our solicitor has said it is not her job.

Sometimes it is nice if people step outside their rigid boundaries as it makes life a bit more bearable for everyone else

I am sorry I should have written "I ****ING hate these solicitors"
