As the title really... I'm looking for someone to recommend a coach they have worked with for both cycling and running or triathlon. I have no interest in doing triathlon or duathlon, but I do want to improve both my cycling and running while ensuring they are still fun.
I worked with a coach a few years and ended up getting well overtrained and knackered (hence the name), so I'm keen for someone with an understanding of, ahem, older athletes... I learned a lot from that experience and was complicit with the problem.
Don't care where in the world they are, or if male or female. Just as long as they are sensible and sensitive and realistic. And also that they can incorporate strength work into a somewhat limited amount of time to train.
Thanks.
Jon Baker, used to be on here as DrJon. Has worked with the best cyclists in the world, also runs himself so knows his onions.
My mate Rob runs oxygen addict, seems well thought of and has a wide range of experience. Team.oxygenaddict.com
When I did City to Summit I used Katie Hewison ( http://www.katiehewisoncoaching.co.uk/). She was a hard task-master but as I was running off Ben Nevis at 11pm at night after 19 hours of running and cycling and feeling pretty good, I was grateful for that.
More recently I’ve used Oli Beckingsale at BW Cycling in Bristol, who’s more chilled. He’s helping me with my Dirty Kanza single speed attempt next year. He coaches a lot of proper athletes too.
