And how would you test it?

Every time the microwave gets turned on the wifi drops out. The router is in a different room, no indication that it's losing power and as soon as the microwave finishes the signal is restored.

The Microwave is in between the computer and the router with about 15 feet gap separating both the computer and the router from the microwave.

They can leak and do leak.

You need to wear a tinfoil hat to stop it damaging your brain.

They sure can.

One test, put a mobile phone in the microwave (don't turn the MW on 😉 ). Call the mobile from a different phone, if the mobile actually rings then your shielding has gone.

Yes, they all leak but to a very small degree compared the the power output created. Frequencies of 2.4GHz WiFi is in the same band as a microwave.

Yes they can leak, they need to be certified to ensure that they are below minimum leakage rates. Thats certainly the case for the industrial ones that I work with anyway. Generally they'll only leak significantly if there's been some sort of damage or degradation to the protective barriers on the door/walls.

If you've got an apple or android phone you can download the EMF testing app so you can measure it. In my experience its almost useless but a bit of fun (if that floats your boat).

You used to be able to get Microwave leak detectors, we had some at work.
