Hello
The wife, a few friends and I are planning our first trip to Le France.
Can anyone recommend a campsite or somewhere with chalets/caravans to hire by the coast, not too far from Calais?
As it's a *gasp* non-biking trip proximity to trails is not a prerequisite!
As I've never driven abroad before I would prefer somewhere not too much of a drive from Calais and was thinking about the Wissant area..
Any suggestions? Ta
Just been looking up these, for a stopover after the ferry.

If I were you I wouldn't let the fact you haven't driven abroad stop you looking a bit further afield. I've just got back from Brittany, which was my first time driving abroad, and it was so much easier than I could have imagined - much easier than the UK, the roads in France were very quiet and it takes about 5mins to get used to being on the 'wrong' side of the road. Only issue was in towns where locals clearly expect to drive at more than the 30kph/50kph limits and you get them on your back end for a bit, but they inevitably turn off before they become a pest. Get a sat nav that shows the prevailing speed limit (it's not always clear) and you're sorted.
Thanks guys.
Anyone else any thoughts? Bumpety bump..
There is more to northern France than Calais.
I'm sure there is but I know none of it hence asking for ideas! 🙂
Trust me, within a few mins of rolling off the ferry you'll be fine. I was somewhat nervous when we towed our caravan to France for the first time, but it was so much less stressful than towing here.
