I know it's come up a few times but I'm struggling with my searching.
We are driving over to the Alps in a few weeks and need a nice site somewhere along the Arras, Reims, Troyes or Dijon route. We haven't booked the tunnel yet so can be flexible on how far down we go.
Thanks for any help
Hi
A little past Dijon but we stopped here last year for 3 nights. Near Bourg-en-Bresse

Very nice campsite on the side of a small lake.
We then stopped at Camping de Meije which is at the bottom of a glacier. In La Grave. Amazing views. Although you are packed in quite tight.
We stayed in a nice campsite in Dijon at the start & end of our cycle tour. It was Camping Lac Kir.
Not a big flashy resort type holiday camp, but had a wee bar / takeaway on site. Short cycle into town for sight seeing.
Would happily go again,
Any particular reason for a campsite? Usually on the drive down we drive until late and get going early. If in the van there are plenty or Aires and if in the car then an F1 hotel is very cheap and right by the motorway exit. In fact we'll often use an F1 even if we are in the van. There's one in Arras, Reims, Troyes and Dijon so you can easily tailor your journey or decide on the way depending how tired you feel.
we stayed here

on our way down to annecy last year and will again this year, the kids loved it, fantastic and affordable restaurant, swimming in the lake, ponies, bouncy castle basically sweetened the deal for our kids (3 and 6 at the time) for the big drive to the alps.
Depending on the route you're taking to the Alps, and your destination, this place in Gerardmer is lovely.

If you want economy, there's a municipal campsite in Epernay.
Just for stopping off, we’ve used the municipal campsite in Troyes before, was fine and a nice walk into town for the evening.
Hotel f1 near arras is my choice for a pit stop though, saves unpacking.
How do people do F1 with a family of 4? Wing it and someone sleep on the floor, or don't bother?
Cheers all.
We've used F1 plenty of times before but as we are in the campervan it would make sense to use a campsite. If nothing else it would be handy to charge the leisure batteries and get the fridge on the mains electricity. The middle of France gets bloody hot and I need icey cold coke to get me through the journey.
Anyone want to recommend somewhere nice to eat in walking distance of any of those sites?
The Gerardmer site has a restaurant 400m away and jolly nice it is too
we always stay at les grebes du lac at Marcenay on way to Alps.
It's a little bit of a trek from the autoroute but very chilled out with pools and a lake to swim in
