The beds are too hard in our van so we're looking for a mattress topper. Can anyone recommend a thin travel one that folds or rolls up well?
I don't want to pay for Duvalay as they're very expensive nowadays.
I was thinking that 2 singles would be easier to pack up and store when not in use
What do you do?
Are the beds too hard because the foam cushions are too soft? That's the experience we had so we just use a couple of old Thermarests under the seat cushions. They roll up to minimum weight and volume.
New foam in the cushions
It will soften over time but it's very hard now, uncomfortably hard and I like a firm bed
We have these in ours

Two thermarests on top
We're new to this campervan malarkey and had the same issue. Two of the cheapest Emma mattresses sorted it. I now get a better nights sleep than in our house bed. Superb
Just went with Duvalays in the end - tried foam mattresses etc, but they were always a compromise.
We bought some custom size memory foam online. Got some samples of different density first though hard to gauge by squeeze what a 10cm sample what like to sleep on. Was £80 I think and def better than the factory foam in van.
We inherited a custom made 2" Duvalay in our last van. It was very good but very heavy and hard to roll up
I'll look at their thinner options
I want something that can be rolled or folded and stored under the bed when we're using the seats
We bought from Dunelm. We're about 10 nights in and it's brilliant. I sleep as well as our bed at home.
It's cooler than our old memory foam mattress at home, but not*quite* as nice as our new wool mattress at home. But the new mattress was £1k...
It rolls up relatively large - but with a high top we just store above the top cupboard.

We've got one of these....

We like how it folds easy to store on the "parcel shelf" portion of the rib bed, where it lives permanently when not in use, rather than being the duvalay style which needs rolling up and putting somewhere. Tonight is the first night on it, so if I remember I'll update with how comfy it is tomorrow!
I have a silent night airmax (air something) topper. It's surprising how much comfort it adds, with the bonus you're not sleeping direct onto the foam.
Cheap as chips too.
Does it fold or roll up to a small size?
Foam mattress topper from Dunelm for us. Great nights sleep!
The mattress can be rolled up quite compact with the aid of some straps
Thanks all
