Evening all, I am looking to take my son camping for the first time - I would like it to feel "wild" so I want to ride to a camp site rather than just drive - I am looking for a site near or on either of the above trails that I can do a short ride to

Any help ?

The Royal Oak pub near Pomeroy has a campsite. You could ride from Ashbourne or closer?

Also campsite at Pomeroy on a farm

How about birchwood farm at whatstandwell? Possibly park up at Middleton top then ride down the incline, past black rocks hen cut into the woods halfway down sheep pasture incline before cromford. Great riding through those woods. Reckon its 4 miles tops and mostly downhill on the way there.

I think there's a site at Brundcliffe Farm at Newhaven (there are always tents there) which is right on the High Peak Trail. Although Newhaven isn't the most sheltered location in the Peak

Sorry, "shouldn't" rather that "should"
