Hiya,
I have a Ricoh Capilo GPX camera which I've had since 2005- recently it has developed a fault where it will turn on, boot up, tell me that it has no battery power(with full batteries), and power down again- any ideas what the problem is? Is it repairable?
It's a great little camera, and I've had some cracking pictures out of it- be a shame to have to get rid....

ive had a similar thing happen with an old cannon compact, where the battery charger said the batteries were fully charged, but it turned out they were a bit dud and werent putting out enough voltage to satisfy the min requirements of the camera, so it shut itself down saying they were dead
Does it take a Ricoh battery, or standard off the shelf size batteries ?
If it is a camera specific battery have you tried a replacement ?
It is normal double a size. Tried lots of different batteries, nicd, alkaline etc, same result...
