I looking at buying a new compact camera and want to look at reviews. Problem is, the review sites I've found all seem to be US with different models numbers to the UK and it's a bloody nightmare trying to cross reference them.
So can you recommend me a good UK review site, or a good US site that also shows UK model numbers.
While you're about it, I've been recommended the Lumix TZ10 which looks perfect and I'm tempted to push the button, but any other suggestions gratefully received
How about the confusingly named
www.cameras.co.uk
I've got a S95 and think it's brilliant (apart from the fact that it has just gone wrong, luckily 2 weeks before the warranty runs out.)
[edit]From that website. Big factor for me "Colours
One of the biggest differences I notice between this type of more advanced digital camera and more basic models is the way the colours are represented. With the Powershot S95 little is lost in terms of vividness, but the colours also manage to take on a more natural look than some of the less expensive models are capable of producing."
www.dpreview.com is a good site, so long as they have reviewed the camera you are interested in.
The Lumix range of cameras is pretty well regarded - only thing that seems to hamper them in a lot of reviews is poor low light performance, compared to some competitors.
I have been looking for a compact lately & saw the Sony HX5V the other day which looks like a contender. It gets very good reviews.
DexB, thanks that looks perfect and I'll put the S95 on the list.
I'm after a camera to take on rides so something with reasonable quality, shutter priortity control and reasonably tough are the main attributes.
Also any recommendations on small waterproof cases that can strap onto the chest strap of my pack?

stumpy01, I looked at dpreview. Is that not one of the US sites with different model numbers?

Berghaus make a range of good clip on cases, pretty water resistant and with a waterproof cover too. They're also re-inforced inside, so if you land on it you won't squash the camera:
I have one of these http://www.tiso.com/shop/berghaus/gps_carry_case/
Says GPS, but fits something small. I seem to recall they make cases basically the same in different sizes. It has a clip that can work both directions, so clips on the hose guide strap fine.

Dunno. It might be American, but I've never had a problem finding reviews on it for particular cameras.
TZ10, for example...

Oh and yes, it does appear to be called something different, although is called TZ-10 in brackets...
Excellent, thanks guys
