I was given a camera bird box for christmas by my son.
It now has a family of Great Tits in it and I can watch it on my mobile app... It is fantastic.
I would love to get some more and be able to watch them on my PC.
The company that sells the camera bird box has limited advice or help with this broblem .... STW is bound to have experts on a camera/IT issue...
HELP please
Sorry I can’t help, but what a splendid idea. I’m about to put up a box myself. Any recommendations?
I've always had an eye for great tits.
If you can watch it via an app you can almost certainly watch it via your PC also 🤔
What’s the company and/or product/camera model etc?
Which brand do you have? @eyepic
I was thinking of getting one for my sister. Can you look at the camera from more than one phone?
'have you ever seen a bird box?'
- no, but I've seen a squirrel do karate.
😆
Can you get power to it? I use a Blink Mini from Amazon to supervise the hedgehog that lives in my garden.
I have a Garden Nature wifi box/camera (not the solar one).
Yes it shows well on my phone and I can see it whoever I am in the country etc.
I would have thought that if you have their app (and passwords) it would show on multiple cameras.
Just feel that I should be able to get it on my PC somehow.
Maybe it has a web interface? Find the IP address of the camera and just try pointing a web browser at it - worth a go 👍
I need a security camera for the tit box, chicks are chirping away but keep seeing an evil starling poking its nose in. I'm amazed at how busy the male and female work feeding the young ones
Slightly off-topic, but we have a bird box and, since putting it up three years ago, we've had visitors and they seem to spend a few weeks there, seemingly building a nest. However, on each occasion, they have then left the box before having any chicks. Any idea why?
so these are just generic Chinese-made cameras. I have some similar ones from a company called Green Feathers - great when they worked, but then both of them crapped out & the company weren't mega helpful. The app they supplied was also crap, all in Chinese 😂 At least Garden Nature seem to have bothered to make their own app (although possibly it's white label?)I have a Garden Nature wifi box/camera (not the solar one).
They're certainly not worth the money they're charging for a camera of questionable robustness, plus a cheap bird house!!
you could source the cameras yourself from a Chinese supplier?

(that is not a recommendation of any particularly supplier or product btw. Do your own research 😂. But my guess is that these cameras are generic & they're not putting their own firmware on them, so probably any camera would work with any app that uses the same protocols)
yes it defo has a web interface. You may need to do some googling to find the default login details though. I did this before when mine were working though cannot remember what the details were! It's just an IP camera. I ran them thru an NVR rather than using their dodgy app 😂Maybe it has a web interface? Find the IP address of the camera and just try pointing a web browser at it
just googling quickly, this thread seems to have some info about these cameras (as well as a link to buy it for about £20!) https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/bird-box-camera-uses-cloud-p2p-possible-to-configure-and-use-locally.58627/
I seem to remember the Green Feathers website had a few tech pages about how to connect, etc, if indeed it is the same or a very similar camera type.
