I was thinking of trying some of these plugs designed to calm the auditory environment which is often rather intrusive for my liking !
Full foam plugs seal you away a little too much for everyday living so I was wondering whether any folk on here had tried these products and could offer advice .
I also enjoy my cycling a lot more when there's reduced wind noise but am not keen on the muffling effect or feeling of foam plugs.
Anyone tried such products and found them worthwhile or are they a waste of money ?
Thanks in advance
Bill
I tried musician ear plugs but it didn’t really help with the wind noise, which is giving me tinnitus. In the end I just use normal ones and ride at night with a Varia radar.
It might be worth trying the musician-type earplugs, some sit further into the ear canal than others, which might help stop wind noise across the opening at the end. It’s not something I ever bothered with when I was riding, wind noise was just a product of getting a move on, and the earplugs I have for gigs, and I’ve got both long and short types, I just never had a need to wear them outside so I’ve got no idea at all how effective they’d be. It’s always worth having a couple of pairs on keyrings for particularly loud gigs, and they’re not that expensive, so worth a punt.
