My silva x trail headtorch puts out around 150 lumens allegedly, and its great and very bright for trail running with but a little lacking on the bike. Silva have released its successor, which looks to all intents and purposed identical, but with a 100 lumen boost thanks to upgraded but un-named LED's
Would anyone be able to upgrade my head torch, and what do you think the cost might be?

You can buy LED's, usually mounted on a star base, which you could possibly solder on in place of the original, if it's star-mounted, you'd need to open it up to see how the emitter is fitted. DX.com do a huge range, but you might run into problems with appropriate drivers, which would possibly be needed for a more powerful emitter.
Candlepower forums might be of help if you go over there and ask a few questions.
By the time you've finished fannying around, you might just be better off buying the new one and keeping the old one in the car for emergencies.
