So the Mrs has decided she wants an ebike, initial search suggests the above might be a decent option for just over £1100 and most importantly they seem to be available. Reviews seem to be decent enough but what I'm really struggling with is sizing. She's 5ft6 so would guess a small would be OK but there doesntseem to be sizing info anywhere I can find? Does any one have one to be able to point me in the right direction or are there any other options I should be looking at ?
Pootling or full gnar?
Pootle, will likely end up with a kids seat on the back.
Possibly better to err on the small side?
Long shot but calibre are now selling bikes in Aus, rebranded, there might be more info from sites down there.
Can't remember the name they are called though, it came up on a recent calibre thread. If you can get the search function to work it'll come up.
Sorry for horrendous link. In stock for delivery in medium. Has sizing info too. Ive not compared spec, same price though.
Decathlon tend to be fantastic with warranty stuff, which is likely to be an issue with a lot of ebikes at any price from any manufacturer of course.

Calibre quotes weight of 14.9kg
Decathlon quotes 22.5kg(!)
Fork on calibre has some more adjustment, both heavy steel stanchion coil forks
Decathlon is 1x
Decathlon battery looks physically much larger (no battery capacity quoted on calibre).
If the battery is indeed bigger capacity I would lean decathlon
In my defence I didn't check at the specs. Decathlon also has mechanics brakes I think.
22kg can't be right can it? 😐
Ah this says calibre 317Wh and says it actually weight 21.2kg
https://www.freewheelingfrance.com/books/calibre-kinetic-electric-mountain-bike.html
Decathlon quotes 380Wh
Perhaps calibre quote weight without battery on the website....?
I'd prob still go decathlon, its £100 cheaper which would buy you a set of shimano 4 pots.
Or just leave them if only used for pootling.
Could be without battery, if so that's a bloody dodgy metric to list on Ebikes. Lol
More likely to just be a mistake I guess.
I would say that as much as I love my Dune, the claimed weight was made up.

Maybe thinking of Polygon? That's a bit different, they've licenced some of the Calibre designs and I'd assume they're made in the same factory but it's not quite Calibre selling them.
Polygon are the factory.
They own the Marin brand and make Calibres amongst many others, and put bikes out under the Polygon brand in the US and Aus.
That's sounds like it guys. Yeah, not sure of the exact business arrangement though.
Hi, I'm 5'5" and have the small frame Kinetic. It fits me perfectly with the seat raised 11cm. The battery is 317Wh and bike's total weight is weight 21.2kg. I'm loving my Kinetic, comfortable bike to ride and taking me places I wouldn't go on an ordinary MTB.

Personally its not my style, nor is it the type of ebike im wanting, but i have looked about a bit and even joined an ebike forum( https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/ and a manufacturer called Woosh certainly seems to have a good reputation and a more than fair price. Woosh are also on the pedelecs forum as a trade member, so questions and niggles are easily addressed. Although I know nothing about them, I do see them addressing questions from members.
Woosh website - https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?
As with this subject, all info is good info, so its another route outwith the main companies who've just added an E to their usual range. I think its also a UK company thats been on the go for at least 10 years.
Gents, cheers for the help. Ended up picking up a calibre yesterday, mostly because there is a go outdoors atlot more locally than decathlon. I think it's the small but the shop didn't seem to have idea about sizing but it fits and that's matters I guess. Now to figure out how to put a child seat on it .....
