...or am I the only one interested in the cricket scores?

I'm not that interested although I had been slightly taken aback about how frequently the English Cricket Board has been in the news recently until I found out there is a European Central Bank that shares its initials.

Getting relegated in the cricket is surely the next worse thing for Yorkshire?

I like the scene in the Wallace and Gromit film where Gromit is deciding which window to throw the bomb out of.
#1 - a nun walking past
#2 - little puppy dogs playing
#3 - Yorkshire

Decisions, decisions 😛

Is it bollocks. If Yorkshire was actually nuked, and ceased to exist, the World wouldn't notice. It's that insignificant.

I'd like them to save Bradford though, as it's beautiful.

What brakes said.

As for the cricket though - who cares? Its cricket FFS. More people care about chess.

Except that it's not a Republic, is it? Merely a tatty impoverished borough of Greater Manchester. 😐

To you it may be.

To the rest of the World, it is but an insignificant speck, of much less significance even than Kent. 😐

Even as a Lancastrian, give me Yorkshire over London any day of the week.

You wanted to live in Donny earlier so you like quite a lot of god's own country it seems.

Merely a tatty impoverished borough of Greater Manchester.

Not sure how that would work, given that North Yorkshire is the biggest county in England - surely that will make the insignificancies of Lancashire be a mere speck against the might of the Shires combined?

You're welcome to it mate. Seriously.

I'd rather enjoy this over some miserable cold damp moor any day of the week:

Oh look; I can! 😀 How wonderful.

frankly they've been rubbish at cricket all season, annoying considering last season they had a shout at the title right up until the very last game.

too many batting collapses. too few wickets

Glad we've finally got somebody admitting to being a Yorkshire cricket fan on. As a Worcestershire fan I posted just as soon as we had one bonus point 😉

not a fan per se - can't abide a game that takes 4 days (5 for a test match) to produce a stalemate - but I do keep an eye/ear open for Yorkshire's results

Been a poor season for Yorkshire and division 2 cricket is a big step down both in terms of quality and spectators (think 5 people watching vs 25 🙂 )

The county championship format is in serious trouble and I'm not sure how it will be reinvented without reducing the duration. Crazy as England are no. 1 in the long game. I reckon we'll see a number of counties folding/going semi pro in the next few years unless they get propped up with TV money.

Kent have been awful again, I don't see them improving anytime soon.
