Bought a Bell nomad MIPS from Black's - arrived, yes it's a Bell Nomad, no it's not MIPS
Will only do a refund not send me the right item, definitely in stock online - surely that's not right?

I ordered grey - clearly labelled MIPS and in the description 🤷🏻♂️
MIPS is that inner plastic thingy, does it have nothing or can you show a photo of the inside to confirm.
I mean it just as it says mips i would have thought it was fitted, and if not there wouldnt be a label saying it was. Not like these people to make such a mistake
Will only do a refund not send me the right item
Get a refund. Order the item you want.
They're probably all the same so don't actually have the MIPS version. Or reorder and accept the refund.
Grey one doesn't have the MIPS sticker on, and doesn;t look like it has the MIPS inner in the photo's as it's generally yellow.
Get a refund if you want MIPS.
So they just pasted the wrong text description in the product listing?
Not cricket to insist on having a different model IMO, but you shouldn't have to pay return postage.
surely that’s not right?
Not sure which bit you're questioning? Loads of places don't do exchanges these days as it's simpler just to do the refund and reorder thing instead
I'm assuming he doesn't want to pay the extra
I think you had an inkling it might not be MIPS when you bought it. Why would the grey one be cheaper than the black one if they were both MIPS?
MIPS liners can be black, but the photos of the grey one don't show the MIPS liner where you normally expect to see it. So not a MIPS helmet in the photos, nor does it have the sticker. Wrong copy in the description. Get a refund.
The MIPS version is cheaper at Merlin than Black's anyway 🤷🏻♂️
I'd get a refund. They won't honour the fact that they've made a mistake. There'll be something somewhere on their website that says 'we might get details wrong & tough luck'
Looks like Leisure Lakes has it for the same price with MIPS, assuming their detail is correct (so order it from there):

Standard policy with a fair few shops that. Just re-order. (From somewhere that can get it right 😀 )
don’t want to pay the extra as don’t see why I should
There's no rule in any shops saying they have to honour the price of the label. Had many arguments with customers who think they should get loads of money off when it's clearly labelled wrong. Doesn't just mean you get it cheap

Yes, but why should OP bear the cost of sending it back when it's not his fault?

Yeah it’s right why wouldn’t it be?
Yes, but why should OP bear the cost of sending it back when it’s not his fault?
Don't think they are charging for return, just that the actual MIPS helmet is more expensive than the wrongly described helmet was.
I had the same issue with some wrongly described rims from CRC. Took them two weeks to process the refund as well. Par for the course these days?
If you're claiming "not as described" then legally you have the right to reject the goods for a refund. You have no rights to an exchange.
don’t want to pay the extra as don’t see why I should
Because it's a more expensive product? Why do you believe you shouldn't?
Their approach doesn't appear to be consistent with returns/refunds/exchange policy on their website.
Yes, but why should OP bear the cost of sending it back when it’s not his fault?
He (I'm assuming "he," apologies if it's wrong) shouldn't.
If he's returning it as a rejected purchase that he simply doesn't want then that's CCR, 14 days to do that and he is liable for return postage unless the seller offers to cover it. They should make this clear prior to purchase.
However, as he's returning it as "not as described" then that falls under CRA and he has 30 days to return it. He's not liable for return postage in this case.
Yeah, that's a bit annoying. I could easily imagine that a less desirable colour might be 20% less in the sale. It says MIPS in both the title and the text, so I can certainly see how OP feels mislead.
Needs return postage covered and full refund. But I don't think you can demand a more expensive version.
Yes, but why should OP bear the cost of sending it back when it’s not his fault?
No cost is zero.
It has "free returns" if I take it to the garage but that's time and effort.
Just not impressed that something I ordered didn't turn up and something I didn't did
